Margin Call
Thriller about the credit crunch starring Kevin Spacey, Jeremy Irons, Demi Moore and Stanley Tucci.
The credit crunch starts in 2008 at a large New York investment bank, as many employees are fired from one day to the next. On his way out the door, Eric Dale (Stanley Tucci) gives the young analyst Peter Sullivan (Zachary Quinto) a flash drive containing information that paints a horrifying scenario. In the middle of the night, an experienced broker (Kevin Spacey), a risk analyst (Demi Moore) and the company's CEO (Jeremy Irons) are called together to develop a plan to save the firm – even if it has serious consequences for Wall Street and the world.
As Sullivan and his colleagues look over the edge of their building down onto the New York street below, one gets an idea of the devastating fall that may await banking in particular and the world's economy in general. Without overwhelming the audience with facts, J.C. Chandor's star-studded, fast-paced thriller uses a fictional example to offer insight into the course of events leading to the global financial crisis.
