Les émotifs anonymes
Two hyper-emotional people try to become a couple.
Jean-René is the head of a family chocolate business on the brink of bankruptcy. To save his company, he hires a new sales rep, Angélique. A former chocolate-maker, her mission is to get the product to as many stores as possible. But while the two get along very well, they both suffer from severe emotional difficulties that get in the way of their social and love lives. United by a love for chocolate, they do all they can to get over their mutual fears.
This nice but unfortunately predictable comedy is saved by its tender and old-fashioned atmosphere. The sincerity of the subject and the actors’ (Isabelle Carré and Benoît Poelvoorde) fresh performances are touching, while the plot seems to be nothing more that a pretext.
